Veteran Nollywood actress Shaffy Bello has sparked widespread discussion online following her recent comments regarding self-worth, survival, and the choices young women make today.
During an appearance on The Morayo Show, hosted by Morayo Afolabi-Brown, Bello discussed the pressures of online validation and the financial struggles many women face.
She argued that women do not need to rely on provocative clothing or social media attention to achieve success or validation.
“The seeds that you sow matter. You don’t have to show your boobs to be sexy, and you don’t have to shake your bumbum to go viral”. She said.

Instead, she urged the younger generation to prioritize dignity over fleeting internet fame, emphasizing that long-term outcomes depend on the choices made today.

“If what you are doing now is being a ‘runs girl’ to make money, you don’t have to stay there. I understand it, I never judge. If you go be ashawo, do am well. Do it well with respect and your full-chest.” She said.

While advocating for self-respect, the actress also expressed empathy for those facing severe economic hardships.
“Some girls are doing it because they need to feed their mom, send their younger ones to school. I understand it. However, my darlings, don’t stay there.” She added.
However, she strongly advised against settling into these lifestyles permanently, encouraging women to view such situations as temporary hurdles and to continually strive for personal growth.
