E-Money Regains Freedom From Police Custody After Hours Of Interrogation

CHAIRMAN, Five Star Group, Emeka Okonkwo popularly known as E-Money, has regained his freedom from police custody after hours of interrogation.

Eelive.ng had reported that the music executive who arrived at the Police Headquarters Annex, Kam Salem, Obalende, Ikoyi, around 1:00pm on Tuesday, May 12, 2020, in a wine-coloured suit, was taken into custody for using the police escorts attached to him like domestic servants.

Punch reports that someone whose identity was yet-to-be-disclosed took E-Money’s bail, after which he was allowed to return to his family.

“E-Money visited the Force HQ annex today and met with police detectives and was grilled for about six hours. He came along with two others and responded to many questions. Somebody took his bail and he was allowed to leave and return on Wednesday for more questioning,” a top source in the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) was quoted as saying.

Having released him on bail condition, Mohammed Adamu, the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), placed E-Money under investigation for his flamboyant lifestyle.

E-Money’s luxurious lifestyle, which includes the use of police escorts as security, has however attracted quite a number of critics and admirers.

While some people think the authorities should not only withdraw the escorts but also look into his source of income, others think E-Money is not only the high profile citizen in the country, and there are other people who are also guilty of abusing such privileges.

What’s your reservation on the matter?
