Eedris Abdulkareem pays emotional tribute to Raymond Dokpesi in heartfelt song
Ace rapper Eedris Abdulkareem pays tribute to late media mogul Raymond Dokpesi with a new song.
Dokpesi, founder of DAAR Communications, passed away on May 29.
Eedris announced the release of the song, titled ‘Dokpesi Sun Re’, in a heartfelt Instagram post.
The rapper reminisces about the impact Dokpesi had on his career and praises his Raypower radio empire.
The song serves as a tribute to the late media mogul’s legacy and contributions to the industry.
“For Eedris as Mr T or Mr Remedy, a freshly minted fire brand rapper newly arrived from Kano, Chief Dokpesi and his Raypower radio empire was a sure getaway to bigger deals and larger audiences,” he wrote.
“What a life to lose and what a vacuum to leave/ A great man just took a divine bow/ It is very painful to lose such a treasure now/ Chief Raymond Dokpesi was truly a great man,” he sings.
“A strong pillar of our entertainment industry/ A true lover and strong supporter of freedom expression who provided the platform for singers to be nurtured. Sun Re Baba mi you lived a good life.”
