FaceApp Is Taking Over Social Media! But Should You Trust It?

There is a new phone app called FaceApp taking over social media. It predicts what a person’s face will look like in years to come – the younger you vs the older you. It applies superior algorithm to convert your recent picture into what could be an older version of you, revealing what a you might look like in years to come.

This new FaceApp believed to have been created by a Russian group of software developers has gone viral as people seem to be enjoying a glimpse into their future to see what might be, in this case, to see if or not they age beautifully.

There is cause for worry however as it has been alleged that this new app was created with the intention of stealing identities especially with the recent spate of FaceID.

There is no doubt that majority of smartphone users do not read the terms and conditions applied when registering to use an app and the Russians are allegedly taking advantage of this fact by inputting extra policies that give them the legal right to claim ownership of a persons identity and pictures without any form of payment or notification issued to the person.

Although, credible information is yet to be published by the proprietors of FaceApp at this time, there is a need to be cautious and protect our privacy by limiting the number of apps we grant access to our data.
