Controversial Nigerian singer, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has responded to theft allegations made against him by social media personality VeryDarkMan, denying claims that he once stole a tricycle (keke) before rising to fame.
The feud between the two began after VeryDarkMan called on President Bola Tinubu to urgently address the ongoing killings in Benue State and the worsening economic hardship in the country.
In response, Portable took to Instagram to defend the President, criticizing VeryDarkMan for constantly dragging Tinubu despite allegedly benefiting from the current administration. According to Portable, it was under Tinubu’s government that VeryDarkMan began enjoying a luxurious lifestyle.

The online spat intensified after VeryDarkMan released an old video allegedly showing Portable being beaten by a mob in 2020 for reportedly stealing a tricycle, years before his rise to stardom. He followed up the clip with a diss track in which he mocked the singer, repeatedly chanting “Ole!”, a Yoruba word for “thief.”

Portable wasted no time firing back. In a snippet of his own diss track shared on Instagram, the “Zazuu” crooner vehemently denied the accusation. He declared his innocence, insisting that he had never stolen in his life and was proud of his background.
“VeryDarkMan, your mother! You’re a poor person. Your father is a shoemaker, and I take after my father. I am not a thief. Stop calling me a thief,” Portable sang in the video.
He also took a swipe at VeryDarkMan, making personal attacks and using derogatory language, further escalating the already heated exchange.
The drama between the two continues to trend on social media, with fans divided over who to support. While some accuse Portable of deflecting with insults, others believe VeryDarkMan crossed the line by digging up and sharing an old, unverified video.
As of now, neither party shows signs of backing down.
