Fashion police: How stars showed up to the 2021 Emmy Awards

The Emmy awards has come again, and this time it returned to its regular form, an in-person ceremony, after last year’s virtual events. The biggest names in television gathered in downtown LA, to showcase their best looks. Check out some of the looks from the 2021 Emmy Awards red carpet.

Kate Winslet

Winslet showed up to the awards show an in Armani Privé and Fred Leighton. She looked elegant and ready to cart home an award. The plunging neckline of this dress was everything. It’s sheer hands brought the entire look together. The titanic actor gets a 7/10 for this look.

Sterling K. Brown

The ‘This is us’ actor showed up in a dapper suit by Tom Ford. The suit complimented his body shape. However, we must not fail to question his choice of accessory. It begets the question ‘who wears shades at night?’. Brown gets a 6/10 for this look.

Ellen Pompeo

The Grey’s anatomy lead  showcased that she is indeed a boss with this jumpsuit from Elie Saab. Everything about this outfit is lovely and elegant, despite its simplicity. However beautiful it is, it seems too relaxed for a huge award show such as the Emmys. Pompeo gets a 6.5/10.

Juree smollett

The star rocked in a simple Dior Haute Couture gown. Her necklace went perfectly with her dress. Although minimal, other jewelry complimented her overall look. This star gets a 6.5/10 because while she looked elegant, her outfit was quite simple and uninspired. 

Angela Bassett

Bassett stood out in a bright dress from Greta Constantine. It was a bold piece and it complimented her rich skin. Bassett gets a 7/10 for originality.

Taraji P. Henson

The Empire actor showed up looking all kinds of glam. From the sheer nature of the dress to it’s plunging neckline and sequins to her hairdo, which complimented her face and simple make up, Henson’s look was a hit. This look deserves an 8/10.

Billy Porter

One thing no one can accuse Billy porter of, is a lack of originality. Billy brings it every time. Last night, he brought it in an outfit from Ashi studios. One thing that stood out apart from his extravagant sleeves, was his diamond necklace. It was a statement piece that rang loud. Porter gets a 7/10 for this look. 

O.T Fagbenle

To say O.T did Nigeria proud in this outfit will be the understatement of the year. This outfit was reminiscent of an ‘owambe’ party and we loved every bit of it! This look is a 9/10 in my books.

Kaley Cuoco

The Big bang theory star looked all shades of bold in her gown from Vera Wang Haute and De Beers. Its ruffled shoulders gave the look so much. The slit, perfect! Kayley gets a 7.5/10 for this look.

Kathryn Hahn

This was by far one of the worst looks of the night.  Hahn showed up in Lanvin. The belt was disproportionate. The necklace also didn’t quite fit the look as well, also it was unbeffiting of the Emmys . I did like the shoes however, so she gets a 3/10 for this attempt.
