Three Golden Haircare Rules

Every woman has a different hair texture, curl pattern, length, and style. Overtime, the hair industry has made products suitable for the different hair style but regardless of your hair texture or curl pattern there are three general hair care rules that apply to every texture.

Rule No. 1: Wash your Hair

Believe it or not, there is myth that shampooing too often or too vigorously will lead to frizz and loss of hair strands. I am sorry but all this is not true. What is even worse is that women who wash their hair less frequently make use of dry shampoos or oils and sprays as refreshers in-between – these products cause build up with time.

Please, take proper care of your scalp and your hair by washing it regularly. When you wash it, you have to do it right as well; use more product, more water and get in there with your fingers to stimulate your scalp and dislodge dead skin as well as product buildup.

As much as you wash, do not forget to use a conditioner. You want to replenish after its cleansing.

Rule No. 2: Use Wide-Toothed Comb

It usually gets tricky after washing. Most women do their hair wrong after a wash.  What you want to do is to use a wide-toothed comb (always a wide-toothed comb please) on your hair, whether it is straight, curly, stringy or whatever, work your way with the comb from the ends to your roots. We recommend that you do it this way because if you start detangling at the roots, the tangles will tighten up as you work your way down.

It is okay to apply a product while the hair is damp to help your comb move through easily but use the comb with the wide-tooth.

Rule No. 3: Eat for Your Hair Too

What you eat affects your entire body, your hair included so it won’t do you harm to eat more healthy food. Foods like leafy greens, good fats, nuts and grains are good for your hair. Some of us can’t be bothered about eating so much so it is okay to take supplements. This is just so that we don’t lose out completely on those essential nutrients that our body so needs.
