Hana Kimura, ‘Terrace House’ Star and Wrestler, Dies at 22

Hana Kimura, a Japanese professional wrestler and a cast member on the most recent season of Netflix’s reality show Terrace House, has died at the age of 22. 

Stardom Wrestling, the organization Kimura was part of broke the news of her death on Saturday.

“We are very sorry to report that our Hana Kimura has passed away. Please be respectful and allow some time for things to process, and keep your thoughts and prayers with her family and friends.”

Although the cause of Kimura‘s death remains unclear, the last post on Kimura’s Instagram account depicted her and a cat, with the caption “goodbye.” She also tweeted an alarming message earlier on Friday implying she had been cyber-bullied.

“I don’t want to be a human anymore. It was a life I wanted to be loved. Thank you everyone, I love you. Bye,” she wrote.

Kimura won her first title at the JWP Junior plate in 2016; and left to wrestle for Stardom in 2019. She was a leader of the Tokyo Cyber Squad, a fan favorite in Japan. She won the Artist of Stardom championship twice, in addition to a Goddess of Stardom championship. Her mother, Kyoko Kimura, was also a well-known wrestler.
