Nigerian singer and songwriter Damilola Afolabi, popularly known as L.A.X, has come out in strong defence of his longtime friend and former label boss, Wizkid, amid the Afrobeats superstar’s increased social media activity and direct responses to critics.
In a recent interview with Chude and a widely circulated clip, L.A.X explained Wizkid’s current stance, saying: “He has kept quiet for so long, and people still be taking a piss, and that’s why you see him responding now.”
The comments come as Wizkid has been more vocal online in 2026, clashing with perceived disrespect, industry jabs, and personal attacks. Fans and observers have noted his shift from relative restraint to more frequent and unfiltered responses.
