Nigerians continue to break stereotypes in all spheres as they conquer barriers in every industry they find themselves. Worldwide, Nigerian fashion designers are steadily gaining acceptance and a place in the spotlight – from Drake rocking a custom Mowalola jacket, to Burna making his Coachella debut in a Kenneth Ize suit and now Teni Adeola, the genius behind “Slashed by Tia”.
“Slashed by Tia” stood out from its inception as a favourite among fans of unique fashion pieces but with an edge. It also went on to stage an impressive showcase at both the New York Fashion Week and Lagos Fashion & Design Week barely a year after it was founded.
Gaining this kind of massive acceptance made it a celebrity favourite with singers; SZA and Lorde rocking their “Slashed by Tia” two-pieces on stage and models, Cara Delevingne and Gigi Hadid spotted in “Slashed by Tia” tops on a casual day out.
