How Bella Shmurda, Lyta, Others Became Famous -Killertunes

Superstar producer, Otaniyen-uwa Daniel otherwise known as Killertunes, has revealed how emerging artistes like Bella Shmurda, and Lyta, became famous.

Contributing to a debate on “why the streets are churning out new artistes”, Killertunes said there are more artistes having commercial success with their hit songs because of trend and social media.

While explaining that social media has been a very big leverage to artistes in recent times, Killertunes said artistes are now taking the importance of trend seriously.

Exemplifying his point, the Manya producer said Amapiano is the latest popular choice of beat for artistes, adding that it’s working for them (the artistes) because it’s relatable to the young generation.

His words: “There are social media, and nobody is waiting for new record labels. Unlike before, you don’t have to wait for the neccessary resources like funding, record label, and all, before you have hit songs.

“For instance, if you can go viral on Instagram or Tiktok, there’s always somebody that will jump on your trend, and you might just leverage that as an artiste .. Once you go viral, it turns a business… You are no longer an Instagram guy or something.

“Artistes now record songs that are relatable to people.”
