Popular musician, Mr Real has publicly called out his colleagues for what he describes as a hypocritical and selfish approach to national tragedies.
The singer expressed profound disappointment over the widespread silence from the celebrity community regarding the recent, horrific abductions of school children and teachers, which tragically culminated in the decapitation of an educator.
Mr Real drew a sharp contrast between the industry’s muted response to the ongoing insecurity crisis and the overwhelming wave of grief that flooded social media following the recent passing of Nollywood actor Alexx Ekubo.
According to the musician, the disparity in empathy highlights a shallow, self-serving culture within the Nigerian celebrity space.
“Since the kidnapping of school kids and teachers, and one teacher beheaded, I have not seen up to ten celebrities come out to say something about it
“How selfish can you people be? When one of your colleagues passed away a few weeks ago, look at how you all flooded social media with pictures and tributes because he is a celebrity“. He said
“So, the people who were kidnapped and killed are not celebrities, and they don’t deserve to be on your pages?” He added.
