Gbemi, popularly known as Gbemso and the new partner of MC Fish, the estranged husband of Nollywood actress Anita Joseph, has spoken out about the circumstances surrounding their relationship amid ongoing criticism online.
Responding to a social media user, Gbemsi stated that she only got involved with MC Fish after confirming that his marriage to Anita Joseph had already ended.
According to her, she met him at a time when he was separated and accepted his advances only after he provided proof that the relationship was over.
She further alleged that a campaign was launched to damage MC Fish’s reputation and pressure her into walking away from the relationship.
Gbemi maintained that she has only spoken up to defend herself and share her side of the story in the face of what she described as false narratives.
She wrote: “I met a separated man; he proved he was separated, then I dated him. A hate campaign started to tarnish his image and frustrate me to the point of leaving him. I answered cause it was addressed to me.”
“Told my truth and have been saying my truth since lies are out there that remind me of what Davido’s father did when his son was falsely accused of having a child he wasn’t caring for. Please, if someone as important as Davido’s dad could set a conference. As I don’t get money for the conference, I would use my phone.”

She added: “Right from small, I was taught always to defend myself, and that is what I have done since February. Do you know what it means for millions of people to grow hate for you because another person is riding on a promise to silence out of respect for the people he respects?”
Gbemi also reacted to conversations surrounding divorced men, criticising what she described as the growing trend of unfairly damaging their reputation.
She accused some women of using platforms meant to amplify genuine pain and abuse allegations as tools to attack former partners simply because of the bitterness of a failed marriage.
Despite the controversy, she expressed confidence that the truth would eventually come to light.
