Nigerian rap icon Olamide has shared an emotional reflection on his personal life, opening up about the deep void left by the absence of his parents and the sacrifices his father made while raising the family.

In a heartfelt statement, the award-winning artiste revealed that one of the things he misses most is the ability to hear his mother’s and father’s voices whenever he wishes. According to Olamide, their absence has created a longing that success and fame cannot replace.

“What I miss most in my life right now is me not being able to hear my mum’s voice whenever I feel like or my dad’s,” he said.

Olamide also took time to honour his father’s dedication, recounting the demanding routine he maintained for two decades. He explained further that while the family lived on the mainland, his father worked on the island, forcing him into a gruelling daily schedule.

My dad used to wake up at 5 a.m. because we were living on the mainland and he worked on the island. He only slept for about four hours, and he did that back-to-back for 20 years just because he wanted to provide for us,” the rapper added.
