Reality TV star and media personality Josephine Otabor, a.k.a Phyna, has declared that she was Nigeria’s first female streamer, insisting that her journey into streaming began long before the trend gained widespread popularity in the country.
Speaking during a recent live session, the former Big Brother Naija winner addressed claims that she ventured into streaming because of the success of popular content creator Carter Efe. According to her, such assumptions are far from the truth.
Phyna explained that she had already established herself in the streaming space before Carter Efe became widely known for his viral online content and financial success.

She stressed that her decision to stream was driven by passion and interest rather than a desire to follow a trend or capitalise on someone else’s achievements.

She said: “I’m the first female streamer in Nigeria. I didn’t go into streaming because Carter Efe was going viral and making so much money.
She continued:”In fact, I started streaming before Carter Efe.”
