Coronavirus: Idris Elba Tests Positive, Self-Isolates with Wife
British actor Idris Elba has tested positive for coronavirus. The actor revealed via his Twitter account that he had contracted COVID-19. Elba said he got tested this morning after someone he had been in contact with tested positive.
In a video he released with his wife, he talked about having the virus, urging people to self-quarantine and be pragmatic. He told fans that he and his wife were both doing okay with minimal symptoms.
Elba encouraged social distancing to curb the spread of the coronavirus; because, like him, many people have the virus but are not showing symptoms.
This announcement also debunks the harmful myth that the coronavirus does not affect black people.
