Nollywood actor Jim Iyke has shared his views on the entertainment industry, claiming that it is heavily influenced by values that encourage self-glorification and place individuals above spiritual principles

Speaking during a recent interview with media personality Joey Akan, the actor argued that the industry often promotes excessive self-importance, with many entertainers being treated as though they are larger than life.

According to Jim Iyke, this culture of elevating oneself above everything else mirrors what he described as the principles of Satanism.

Reflecting on his own experiences, the actor admitted that there was a period when he believed his fame set him apart from others.

He recalled moments when admirers became emotional simply at the sight of him, which reinforced that mindset.

However, he said his perspective changed after his spiritual journey and relationship with God deepened.

He explained that he later came to view such intense admiration and adulation as a form of idolatry.

He said, “As a creative, to create is to mimic God. You can’t serve God and serve self. That is a conflict of interest. Serving self is satanism itself.”

“When you extol yourself to god-like status, when you think you should be worshipped or the laws should not apply to you anymore, you are literally worshipped.”

Iyke also argued that the entertainment industry creates more opportunities for destructive behaviour than many other professions, adding that creativity was originally intended to reflect God’s nature.

He said:“There is no bigger enabler than the entertainment industry. This is where demons live. Entertainment is totally created and orchestrated to extol the virtues of Satanism”.

He continued: “What in the entertainment glorifies God except you intentionally or consciously pursue him? Is it the blatant life?”

He said: “What do we extol that is godly? I am not saying God doesn’t exist in the entertainment industry; I am saying the entertainment industry is predominantly created for this.”

In his view, attempting to serve both God and personal ego creates an unavoidable conflict, as placing self above God ultimately leads people away from their spiritual purpose.

However, the actor concluded by stressing the importance of maintaining a close relationship with God, particularly within an industry he believes often lacks strong spiritual values.

He concluded,”Once you find your place with God, you will understand what is special. What is special is being able to find God in this place that is devoid of his presence.”
