JMK, Father react as fire razes reality tv star’s lagos residence

Raheem Adedoyin, Father of 2021 Big Brother Naija housemate JMK, has given a full details about how fire razed his daughter’s Lagos apartment.

In a statement by JMK’s father, he stated that the incident occurred in the early hours of Tuesday.

According to him, JMK lost all of her belongings to the fire incident.

He further stated that although his daughter was traumatized as a result of the incident, she is now in good shape.

He wrote: “I confirm that the apartment of my daughter, Zainab Adejumoke Adedoyin (aka JMK) in Parkview Estate, Ikoyi, Lagos, was razed by fire in the early hours of Tuesday, 16th November, 2021.

“Firefighters stationed in the Estate eventually put out the fire. Mercifully, no life was lost and no one was physically injured despite the massive destruction to the property.

“Zainab lost all her belongings in the apartment (clothes, electronics, certificates, international passports, phones etc ) to the inferno.

“Although traumatised, she is presently in good shape and is making efforts to retrieve her certificates and other vital documents.

“She will come online and make statements on her verified social media accounts as soon as she retrieves the sim card she uses for those accounts.

“Again, Zainab is in good shape and we thank the Almighty Allah for His favours on her and the family. ”

Also reacting to the incident, JMK, taking to her Snapchat page, stated that the incident happened while she was asleep.

“The last couple of days have been beyond devastating. I thank God for my life and the life of my friends. 4 am on the 16th of November, my Air conditioner caught fire from a surge while I was sleeping in the room,” JMK wrote.

“I woke up choking to the smoke, ran to my friend’s room to call her but all efforts to put out the fire were in vain.

“Before the firefighters came the room was burnt to the ground. The fire outbreak took everything that I own down to all my certificates”.

In a follow-up post, the reality TV star called out those accusing her of chasing clout over the fire incident.

“It is how insensitive some of you are, I was not going to speak on this but it’s one thing to not like someone, it’s another thing to wish bad things on them,” JMK added.

“Saying I’m chasing clout is very sad and annoying. I don’t even wish this on my enemies. BBNaija is just a show.”
