Funke Akindele is still mourning the death of her colleague and close friend, Alexx Ekubo. Eelive.ng reported that the actor died on May 11 after battling cancer at the age of 41.
The actress had earlier shared an emotional tribute, revealing that she had made several attempts to contact him before his passing.
According to her, Alexx repeatedly assured her that he was fine, even as she continued sending him voice notes and hoping to see him again.

Funke admitted that revisiting their old conversations has made the grieving process even more painful, as she struggles to come to terms with his death and the unanswered messages he left behind.
Their friendship had been publicly admired over the years. In 2023, during Alexx’s 37th birthday celebration, Funke described him as her “paddy mi,” expressing how special he was to her and praying for continued happiness and success in his life.
