Kate Henshaw Cries Out Over Arrest Of Kano-Based Movie Director, Sunusi Oscar

Nigerian celebrities seem to take turns in “demanding for justice” over an injustice or the other.

Just recently, Yemi Alade took to social media to lament the unjust arrest of her team member who was forcefully arrested for “dancing on the street”.

Yemi Alade however seem to be really pained about the issue as she supports Nollywood actress, Kate Henshaw, on her call for justice today.

Ms Henshaw took to Instagram to condemn Kano State Government for wrongly arresting a Kannywood actor and director, Sunusi Oscar.

According to reports, Sunusi was arrested for releasing a music video without permission from the State Censors Board.

Speaking on the issue, the actress wrote:
“This is Sunusi Oscar, a Hausa movie director. The Kano State Censorship Board headed by Ismaila Afakallah arrested him, took him straight to court and the judge refused him bail and Oscar was sent straight to prison.”
“His offence..? That last month, he released a music video on YouTube without permission( is censorship board needed here?) and 4 years ago he released a Hausa music video into the market without censorship certificate… Sunusi told the court, he was just the director of the videos, he is neither the artiste, producer/marketer who distributed the said videos.Info reaching me is that his refusal to support the current administration of Ganduje is the reason behind this. This is so so wrong and condemned in entirety. Injustice to one, is injustice to all,”
she added.

There has been no response from the State agency.
