La La Anthony officially files for divorce from Carmelo Anthony
Its official! According to reports, La La Anthony has now filed for divorced from husband, Carmelo Anthony.
The couple had been married for 11 years and have a son together. TMZ reports that the actress filed the documents on Thursday, June 17 citing irreconcilable differences as her reason.
A source also told the gossip tabloid that even though they’ve been separated for awhile, the couple remain friends. the source also adds that the couple’s priority is their 14-year-old son, Kiyan as they plan to move forward as co-parents.
La La, 41, and Carmelo, 37, have been together since 2004 and officially tied the knot in 2010 in New York. The couple have been on and off for years. They had called it quits back in 2017 amid reports of infidelity. However, by the end of 2018, they had apparently worked things out.
Back in 2017 while speaking with Wendy Williams, La La said,
“I don’t know what the future holds. I just know that we are doing an incredible job again being parents to our son. We are the best of friends. I’ve been with Melo since he was 19 years old. You’re not with somebody that long, and it just goes out the window.”
In July 2019, reports claimed the couple were living apart and La La had sought legal guidance on how to move forward with the relationship.
A statement from the Power actress also read, “As La La and Carmelo have been living apart for quite some time, La La is proceeding with legal discussions as the next step in their relationship,”

2003 – The couple meet while Lala is coming up as an MTV VJ and Carmelo is in college.
2004 – Carmelo is now in the NBA with the Denver Nuggets and proposes to La La on Christmas Day.
2007 – The couple welcome their son, Kiyan to the world
2010 – They finally get married after a five-and-a-half year engagement in New York, with celebrity guests like Kim Kardashian, LeBron James, and Justin Timberlake.
2017 – Carmelo is accused of cheating on La La. TMZ claim he impregnated a stripper which leads La La to file for separation. La La later goes on the Wendy Williams show and says she has no plans at the time to divorce her husband.
2018 – The two officially reconciled and are spotted at a charity event hosted by La La in New York City.
2019 – The basketball star is accused of cheating again but comes out to rubbish the rumors, claiming they were “affecting my family“.
2019 – A statement from La La’s rep says the actress is considering legal options for the couple’s future.
2020 – The couple and their son quarantine together.
