The family of late Nollywood actor Alexx Ekubo has officially announced details of his funeral arrangements following his reported death after a battle with cancer.
In a heartfelt statement shared online, the Ekubo-Okwaraeke family expressed deep sorrow over the actor’s passing while also celebrating the impact he made during his lifetime.
The statement described Alexx as a loving husband, son, brother, friend, and colleague whose kindness, faith, and generosity touched many lives.
According to the announcement, a Service of Songs will be held on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at The Monarch Event Centre in Lekki, Lagos, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Guests attending the event are expected to wear white.

The funeral activities will continue with a wake keep on June 17 in Arochukwu, Abia State, followed by the funeral service and interment on June 18 at Mary Slessor School, Amanagwu Village, Arochukwu.
The family thanked fans, friends, and colleagues for the overwhelming support, prayers, visits, and messages received since the actor’s passing. They noted that the outpouring of love has been comforting during the difficult period.
Alexx Ekubo was widely admired in Nollywood for his talent, charisma, and memorable performances, leaving behind a legacy many say will never be forgotten.
