Lil Baby, Other Foreign Celebrities Ask Buhari to #EndSARS

American rapper, Lil Baby, and other foreign celebrities have asked President Muhammadu Buhari to listen to the cries of Nigerians, and end the notorious police unit, Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS).

For a couple of days now, leading foreign celebrities, including musicians and actors, have aired their concerns on their respective social media pages, demanding an end to police brutality in Nigeria.

Eelive.ng understands that the concerns from foreign high personalities were as a result of nationwide protests of people expressing anger and outcry, over claims of extra-judicial killing, kidnapping, harassment, and extortion by SARS operatives in the country.

Joining Lil Baby for the protest, British rapper, Tinie Tempah wrote: “THE NIGERIAN POLICE SHOULD PROTECT THE PEOPLE NOT HURT THEM KIDNAPPING HARASSMENT AND EXTORTION.”

Similarly voicing his support for the #EndSARS campaign, British-Nigerian actor, John Boyega, stated: “This situation is tied to many other issues. Please lend your attention to this pressing problem!”

Also adding their voice is City Girls, American hip-hop duo, who waved Nigeria’s flag, and simply asked the Buhari-led government to scrap the police unit.

On his part, British rapper, Wretch 32, promised to embark on a peaceful protest in the United Kingdom (UK) and calling for Nigerians in the diaspora to join him, alongside other concerned persons. He wrote: “My family would love to see you at our peaceful protest this Saturday outside Tottenham police station. We have a list of demands that we’ve taken to the higher-ups but want to reiterate them on the ground. Please feel 3 2 come, share & repost – any support will be appreciated.”

Reacting to the ongoing trend, American rapper, Chance The Rapper, tweeted: I just started reading up on this travesty taking place in Nigeria. If you have more info to dispense in the replies I’m all ears..”

Jamaican singer, Kranium also added his voice, as he said: “We are humans and we all share earth together! Do not be silent do not be afraid the Internet is here for us to get news faster than ever please pay attention and bring awareness to what you believe and stand for with that said I STAND WITH THE PEOPLE IN NIGERIA #EndSARS

Other foreign celebrities who joined the #EndSARS protest include -British singer, Estelle; British-Ghanaian producer, Juls Baby; Kenyan pop ban, Sauti Sol; Ghanaian singer, King Promise; UK model, Eva Apio; amongst others.
