Lil Nas X’s Satan Shoes Sold Out in Less Than a Minute!

Lil Nas X‘s Satan shoes sold out less than a minute since he released them.

The 21-year-old star has had one hell of a week as he released the highly provocative video for his single Montero (Call Me By Your Name). The video is heavy with imagery from Greek mythology and Judeo-Christian references. Towards the end of the video, Lil Nas X pole dances to hell and gives the devil a lapdance before killing him and taking his crown. As expected, religious folk on social media have been foaming at the mouth.

Fittingly, the rollout also included the release of Satan-themed Nike Air Max 97s containing blood from MSCHF co-founder Daniel Greenberg and some of his co-workers. The unofficial customized Nikes (which Nike did not actually make); were priced at just over a thousand dollars per pair.

And as a MSCHF rep confirmed, all 666 pairs of the Lil Nas X’s Satan Shoes sold out in less than a minute on Monday.

Pop star Miley Cyrus confirmed that the shoes are indeed real.

Lil Nas x explained the reason why he’s leaning so heavily into the “satanic” branding. “People already demonize who I am and put me in a painting of, ‘OK, he’s evil, he’s doing this, he’s doing that,’” Lil Nas X told Complex in a recent Sneaker Stories episode when detailing his inspiration for the Montero rollout. “So it’s like, you know what? You know what? I’ll take that, I’ll be that, and I’m going to make the best of it.”
