It’s time to say goodbye to “Madea”

Mabel “Madea” Simmons is going bye-bye this year as movie Director, Tyler Perry announced in an interview with SiriusXM. He said to the show’s host, Bevy Smith: “I’m tired, man. I’m tired”.

The loved character’s death is planned to be revealed sooner than we expect as Perry is gearing to drop his new movie “A Madea Family Funeral”.

The director, who plays Madea as well as other hilarious characters on his Madea movie franchise, shared that he actually shot the movie two years ago but he opted not to release it because he didn’t want to drop the Halloween series – Boo! A Madea Halloween and Boo. 2! A Madea Halloween and jump straight to another Madea movie. This is why he chose to release Acrimony and Nobody’s Fool starring Taraji P. Henson and Tiffany Haddish respectively, first.

He said in his 2018 interview: “We’re going to say goodbye in ’19. I just don’t want to be her age playing her.”

We can’t blame the actor as he has been acting the role of Madea since 1999. He introduced the character in his play title I Can Do Bad All by Myself after which he released and starred in several films as Madea, movies including Diary of a Mad Black Woman, Madea’s Family Reunion, Meet the Browns, Madea Goes to Jail, Madea’s Witness Protection and more.
