Mayorkun Reflects Gen Z Culture in “Geng” Visuals
Mayorkun has dropped the music video for his anthemic Afropop hit Geng. The DMW singer released the video on March 4, 2020, in which he featured popular Instagram skit-maker Sydney Talker.
The short video for Geng shows off a bit of Gen Z culture or what Nigerians generally refer to as “Alte”. The “geng” in the video displays a sense of nonchalance; while adopting bold fashion statements as a reflection of their personalities.
The video was directed by Dammy Twitch. Like Rema’s Dumebi, it shows young people just chilling around and having fun.
There’s not much to write about this video except that it is short, bright, and fun; like the song and, unironically, like youth.
