“I’ve made the decision to end my relationship with Klay,” she said. “Trust, fidelity, and respect are non-negotiable for me in a relationship, and when those values are compromised, there’s no real path forward. I’m taking this time to prioritize myself and move ahead with peace and clarity.”
Just before she made the announcement, Megan took to her Instagram Story to seemingly address why she split from the Dallas Mavericks star.

The “Mamushi” singer and Thompson publicly confirmed their relationship in July 2025, attending the Pete & Thomas Foundation Gala in New York City. When asked on the carpet how they met, Megan told People, “It was such a meet-cute, it was like a f***ing movie.”

“I won’t tell you how and I won’t tell you when, but it was a movie,” she continued, calling Thompson “the nicest person I’ve ever met in my life.”
When asked how he felt about attending the gala alongside Megan at the time, Thompson told US Weekly: “Well, it feels incredible because Megan is such a special person, and she inspires so many around the world. I’ve seen it first-hand.”
“This is just another incredible feat of hers to be able to give back, create a foundation, and raise a ton of money for those in need. And I’m honoured to be here by her side,” he continued, referring to how Megan founded the Pete & Thomas Foundation in 2022. The organization, focused on uplifting undeserved communities, is in honour of her late parents, Joseph Pete III and Holly Thomas.
Megan and Thompson also went Instagram official in July 2025, sharing photos of their tropical vacation on their respective social media accounts.
