My Mum Beat Me A Lot Growing Up – Sharon Ooja

If you saw “Skinny Girl in Transit”, then you might know Nollywood Actress, Sharon Ooja or ‘Shalewa’, her name on the series. The talented actress is this week’s guest on Ndani TV’s #37Questions. She talks about growing up in the Northern part of Nigeria and her love for all things beautiful.
“My mum beat me a lot growing up, so I won’t exactly call mine a fun childhood. I have four sisters and I wanted to be a doctor growing up. Growing up in the North was fun though, especially the suya!” She shared.
On her biggest achievement in the industry so far, Sharon said; “My role in Oloture The Movie is my biggest milestone so far. I love Gabrielle Union and I love Mercy Johnson too because she’s been able to balance out all aspects of her life.”
Talking about her passion project, she said; “I’m passionate about the uneducated girl child and how to make a change. Even without formal education, there’s the need to make them understand the importance of a relevant skillset and how it can help raise money for formal education.”
