Nollywood veteran actress Bukky Wright has shared her thoughts on the growing use of the term “gold digger” to describe women who expect financial support from their partners.
Speaking during a recent interview where she discussed relationships, men and financial responsibilities, Wright argued that a man should be able to take care of his partner and make her feel valued.
She also noted that a woman should be someone her partner can be proud of and should not be encouraged to accept less than she deserves.
The actress further advised men to be realistic about their financial capabilities before entering relationships.

According to her, a man who cannot comfortably handle the responsibilities that come with dating should either choose a partner whose expectations align with his means or wait until he is financially prepared.
She said: “I hate it when I hear men calling women gold diggers. What do you expect her to dig? I won’t advise any woman to dig anything less than gold. If you cannot afford a woman, don’t go for it; go for the one you can afford.”
