Nigerian actor Prince Ifeanyi Dike has passed away
Nigerian actor, Prince Ifeanyi Dike, has passed away.
The actor died on Friday after battling a brief illness.
Confirming the news of his death in a chat with TheCable on Friday, Abubakar Yakubu, national secretary of the AGN, said the exact cause of the actor’s death cannot be determine until an autopsy is carried out.
He stated that the actor battled some health challenges prior to his death.
Yakubu said: “He passed on this morning. We don’t know the nature of his illness yet but, during the week, he had some health challenges. We can’t say anything about it because they’ve not done an autopsy yet.
“You can imagine how these things happen! Today, we buried Rachel Oniga. Victor died too. Just as we’re trying to get over that, Ifeanyi Dike followed. It’s a very devastating moment for all of us. We’ve been crying since.
“We’re in a very bad mood. He’s our BoT chairman and an entirely good colleague of ours. It’s sad, really. It’s sad.”
Before his death, Dike served as board of trustees (BoT) chairman for the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN).
In 2011, Dike suffered a kidney ailment leading to eventual successful su transplant in India.
His death comes barely 24hours after Nollywood actor Victor Olaotan, passed away.
