Nigerian stand-up comedy is now worse – Bovi

Nigerian comedian, Abovi Ugboma, popularly known as Bovi, has stated that stand-up comedy in Nigeria has gotten worse.

This happened in a session of ‘Ask me anything’, when a fan of the comedian asked for his opinion on stand-up comedy improvement in Nigeria. Bovi replied, “worse.”

He, further revealed that stand-up comedy in Nigeria could become better if people told “jokes in proper comedy clubs.”

This is coming after Bovi revealed that he was banned from entering the United States of America because he had an ego clash with a visa issuing officer.

When a fan of the comedian asked if he could visit Massachusetts to crack them up with laughter. Bovi replied, “I’m banned in the U.S.A.”

He was then asked why he was banned from entering the US, the comedian responded, “Ill luck! Met a charity visa issuing officer! Egos clashed! I got labelled.”

Bovi also revealed during this session that he doesn’t accept proposals for creative work but rather relies solely on his creativity. He said, “I rely on mine only! Because creative works can be similar and one can end up thinking you stole their idea.”

In response to a question on his preferred presidential candidate in the forthcoming general elections. The comic star said he would wait until the candidates debate.”
