Nigerian singer Niniola Apata has returned to the studio and resumed creating new music following the passing of her husband, Michael Ndika.
In a heartfelt Instagram story posted on Wednesday, the Afrobeats star expressed deep gratitude to her fans, friends, and family for their unwavering support since the loss of her husband, whose death she announced on May 20, 2026.

“I’m thankful and grateful for all the support… God bless you guys,” she wrote. She added the Yoruba phrase “Eniyan laso nito to,” acknowledging the importance of genuine people around her.
Niniola was candid about the emotional difficulty of resuming work, revealing: “Back to recording without Michael was challenging but you guys helped me get through the day.”

Despite the painful loss, the singer appears determined to channel her energy back into her passion.
