Popular Nollywood actress, screenwriter, and producer Ruth Kadiri has issued a passionate and emotional appeal to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, calling for urgent action to tackle Nigeria’s worsening insecurity crisis.
In an Instagram post, Kadiri dismissed claims that public outcry over insecurity is politically motivated. She stressed that the daily loss of innocent lives is a harsh reality for ordinary citizens who no longer feel safe even in their homes.

“This is not a propaganda! This is not your enemies trying to make you look bad. And even if they were, You can’t leave your house on fire. Dear president Tinubu pls do something…. Or give us the go ahead to protect our lives and properties…. Too much death everywhere. Being a Nigerian is not even safe at home anymore,” she wrote, accompanied by a crying emoji.

The actress’s plea comes after armed gunmen attacked schools in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State on May 16. The bandits abducted dozens of pupils and seven teachers from Baptist Nursery and Primary School in Yawota, Community Grammar School, and L.A. Primary School in Esiele. One mathematics teacher was reportedly beheaded.
Kadiri’s message has resonated strongly with many Nigerians amid rising frustration over banditry and kidnapping incidents across the country.
