
Popular Nigerian actor Chinedu Ikedieze, famously known as Aki, has been honoured with a prestigious traditional title in his hometown.
On Saturday, May 23, 2026, he was officially installed as Chief Chinedu Ikedieze MFR, IHIE 1 of Eluoma Uzuakoli Autonomous Community in Bende Local Government Area of Abia State.

The colourful ceremony, attended by traditional rulers, dignitaries, and community members, celebrated the veteran actor’s contributions to Nollywood and his roots in the community.
Ikedieze, born on December 12, 1977, in Iluoma (Eluoma), Uzuakoli, rose to fame alongside Osita Iheme (PawPaw) in the blockbuster Aki na Ukwa (2002). He has featured in over 150 films across a career spanning more than two decades.
Already a Member of the Order of the Federal Republic (MFR), conferred by former President Goodluck Jonathan, he has further solidified his status as a cultural ambassador with this new traditional title.
The actor expressed gratitude by sharing the moment on social media, proudly presenting his new chieftaincy regalia.
Fans flooded his post with congratulatory messages, hailing it as a well-deserved honour for a man who has brought joy to millions through comedy and entertainment. Many described the elevation as “a proud son of Abia” returning home with glory.
