The family of late veteran actor Taiwo Hassan, better known as Ogogo, has debunked reports alleging that his daughter, Shakirat Taiwo, popularly known as Kira, has welcomed a baby boy.
Some online platforms, not Eelive.ng, had reported that Kira welcomed a baby boy a few days after her father’s death.
Pictures purportedly showing the newborn were also circulated on the new mother’s social media account.
However, in a statement shared on social media, Ogogo’s second daughter, Lima, urged the public to disregard the reports, describing them as false.
She said the family had been inundated with calls and messages from friends and relatives seeking clarification over the reports.
“Please disregard the information currently circulating that my sister has given birth. This is not true.
“We have been receiving several calls and messages from friends and family asking about it, so we felt the need to clarify publicly.
“At a time when our family is mourning the loss of our father, we kindly ask everyone to stop spreading or sharing unverified information about our family,” she said.
Ogogo died at about 3 p.m. on Sunday at the age of 66.
His death came days after his daughters announced that he had been diagnosed with stage-four cancer, which had affected his abdomen, and appealed for financial assistance for his treatment.
