A 35-year-old Nigerian man has been arrested for committing a passion crime in Cross River State.
eelive.ng on Tuesday, March 31, gathered that the police authorities in Cross River state have taken the 35-year-old Nigerian man identified as Malime Ejor into custody for reportedly killing his girlfriend, Moshie Igu, over allegations of infidelity.

According to reports, the incident occurred at about 6 a.m. on Saturday, March 28, on a farm in Nwang Village, Ekajuk community, in the Ogoja Local Government Area of the state.
A resident of the community, who chose to remain anonymous, disclosed that the couple got into a serious argument over allegations of extramarital affairs. The confrontation reportedly turned violent, with the suspect allegedly attacking the woman, which resulted in her death.
“We heard a loud noise and shouting, so we rushed there, but by the time we arrived, he had already begun using a machete on her. There was nothing we could do immediately. Our youths later subdued him and handed him over to security operatives,” the witness recounted.
While confirming the incident on Sunday, the spokesperson of the Nigeria Police Force in the state, ASP Sunday Eitokpah, said investigations have begun and assured that justice will be carried out.
Equally, according to reports gathered, a crime of passion or a crime of passion is a violent crime, typically homicide, committed in a sudden, uncontrollable outburst of emotion such as rage, jealousy, or heartbreak rather than premeditated planning. It is often described in law as acting in the “heat of passion” following a provocation.
