Popular Nigerian relationship counsellor and pastor, Kingsley Okonkwo, has ignited widespread debate on social media after unveiling a new tattoo on his arm, a move that has left many followers divided.
The development came to light after the founder of David Christian Centre shared recent photographs and videos online, in which the tattoo was clearly visible.
Almost immediately, the images began circulating across various platforms, triggering a flurry of reactions from supporters, critics and curious observers alike.
While some praised the pastor for expressing his individuality and embracing personal freedom, others questioned whether such body art was appropriate for a Christian leader, especially one known for preaching conservative family values.

Several commentators argued that the tattoo symbolised a shift in how modern-day pastors present themselves, suggesting that religious leaders should not be boxed into rigid stereotypes. Others, however, maintained that clergy are expected to uphold certain standards that distinguish them from secular influencers, warning that visible tattoos could blur that line in the eyes of congregants.
Pastor Kingsley Okonkwo has not issued an official statement directly addressing the controversy, but his silence has done little to slow the online conversations. Screenshots and clips continue to trend, with users dissecting the possible meaning behind the design and debating whether the criticism is justified.
The incident has once again highlighted the evolving relationship between faith, culture and personal expression in contemporary Nigeria.
