Former Big Brother Naija housemate, Pere Egbi has shared the last conversation he had with late Nollywood actor, Alexx Ekubo, following reports of the actor’s death.
eelive.ng had earlier reported that the Nigerian entertainment industry was thrown into mourning after news emerged that Alexx Ekubo, born Alex Ekubo-Okwaraeke, reportedly passed away on May 12, 2026.
According to unconfirmed reports, the actor died after battling kidney cancer.

Reacting to the heartbreaking development, Pere took to his Instagram page to post screenshots of a private conversation he had with the actor months ago.
In the exchange, Pere said he had reached out to check on Alexx’s well-being, with both men offering prayers and kind words to each other.
Sharing the conversation, Pere wrote:

“Jesus!!!!!! Jesus… this one hurts.
“I had the nudge to reach out to you months ago, just to check on you and pray for you. You didn’t say much… but now that moment means even more to me.
“Life is short. Please check on people while you still can.
“Rest well, my brother Alex. May God guide you home.”

Alexx Ekubo was widely known for his acting talent, fashion influence, and vibrant social media presence, making him one of Nollywood’s most recognisable stars.
Concerns about the actor’s wellbeing had grown in recent months following his prolonged absence from social media and public appearances.
Reports indicate that his last Instagram activity was on December 30, 2024, after which he became inactive online, leaving fans worried.
Over time, supporters continued to flood his comment section with prayers and emotional messages, hoping for reassurance from the actor.
