The entertainers Ayo Makun, Ruth Kadiri, Uzor Arukwe and many others were at the Lagos premiere of ‘EVI‘.
The premiere, held at the Filmhouse Cinemas, Lekki, started with a red carpet, followed by the movie screening that lasted late into the night.
Others at the Lekki movie event were Bisola Aiyeola, Baba Rex, Mercy Aigbe, Michael Ejoor and Elozonam.
The movie features Osas Okonyon, who leads the cast, marking her first lead role in a feature film. She stars alongside Uzor Arukwe, Omowunmi Dada, Ibrahim Suleiman, Michael Ejoor, Tomiwa Tegbe, Waje Iruobe, Jay On Air, Ariyike “Dimples” Owalagba, Femi Branch, Gbubemi Ejeye, VJ Adams, and other rising stars.
Crafted by acclaimed writer and director Uyoyou Adia and produced by Judith Audu, EVI stands out as a female-led Afrobeats musical, a genre rarely represented in Nollywood.
The film explores themes of resilience, community, and self-belief, brought to life by a cast that reflects the vibrancy and talent of contemporary Nollywood.

The film is scheduled for a nationwide cinema release on March 27, 2026, and will be distributed by FilmOne Entertainment. It features a strong lineup of both leading and emerging Nollywood actors.
Speaking at the premiere on Sunday night, Audu extended her apprecation to everyone who made the production of the film, ‘EVI’ a success.

She also recounted how a major investor pulled out of the production some days before the film started.
“I am so grateful to be here. Uyi, we did it!. Another thing, we lost a major investor when we were about to start the production of the show. How we did it, to be able to finish the project, I don’t know, it is a miracle,” she said.
