Veteran Nollywood actress Omotunde Ogundimu has opened up about her painful battle with cervical cancer, revealing the emotional, physical and financial toll the illness has taken on her and her family.
The actress made the disclosure during an emotional interview with fellow actress and presenter Biola Adebayo on the Talk to B podcast, where she shared details of her health struggles, which she said began in 2025.

Ogundimu, who described herself as a single mother of three and a widow following the death of her husband in 2012, appealed to Nigerians for support as she continues her fight against the disease.
According to her, the cost of treatment has become overwhelming, with her children spending their earnings on her care.
She said: “I’m going through severe pain. I was diagnosed with cervical cancer. I don’t know where I got it from. I don’t look for people’s trouble; I’m an easy-going person.”
Speaking further, the actress revealed that she had initially resisted seeking public assistance but felt she had reached a point where she had no other option.
She continued: “My children have also spent all they have. My children are now exhausting their income on me. They can no longer care for themselves, but I thank God for blessing me with my children. I had refused to seek help from the public, but as it is now, I don’t have any option other than to do it.”
The actress also expressed sadness over what she described as years of being overlooked in the movie industry despite dedicating more than three decades of her life to acting.
She said, “I don’t usually get jobs. I have called my colleagues in the industry to beg them for movie roles, but none of them did. Please, if I offended anyone in the industry, please forgive me. I have been doing this job for 35 years.”
