Prince Harry, Megan Markle Accuse UK Royals of Racism

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry, and Megan Markle have accused the UK royal institution of racism.

In an interview with American talk show host, Oprah Winfrey that aired in the late hours of Sunday, Markle said there were concerns from the royal family about how dark her son Archie’s skin would be before his birth.

According to Markle, such worries explained why her son with Harry, was not given the title of prince.

Markle’s words: “They didn’t want him to be a prince or princess, not knowing what the gender would be, which would be different from protocol and that he wasn’t going to receive security.

“In those months when I was pregnant, all around this same time, so we have in tandem the conversation of, ‘you won’t be given security, not gonna be given a title’ and also concerns and conversations about how dark his skin might be when he’s born.”

Markle, whose mother is Black and father is white, further revealed that she was naive before she married into the British royal family, and she ended up having suicidal thoughts after asking for help but getting none.

The mother of one and Harry, who married in 2018, have stepped down from their royal duties and are now living in the United States, citing bullying and racist attitudes toward the duchess, who is African-American

Following their abandonment of royal duties, critics accused the couple of wanting all the glamour of their positions without the dedication it requires or scrutiny it brings.
