Rapper, Yung6ix loses valuables in US car robbery

Nigerian rapper, Onome Onokohwomo popularly known as Yung6ix was robbed in the United States of America. He revealed this in an Instagram post where he listed the items he lost. He also shared a CCTV footage from the scene of the crime.

In the post Yung6ix writes: “My car got robbed. Had my whole life in that car. My laptop with my new album and mixtape. about $5,000 – $7,000 cash, Black Magic 6k camera, iPhones my ps5 and studio recording equipment while I was moving into my new apartment.”

The young rapper rose to fame in 2010 after he did a rap cover to Ice Prince’s Oleku. He revealed earlier in the year that he had done prison time in US. According to him, he was implicated by a jeweller who got him arrested in 2019. However, upon his release from jail, he shares a video where he claimed he was convicted based on racial profiling.

Yung6ix was robbed again

Likewise, the young rapper also shared on social media that his car was stolen by robbers in 2020. According to him, they carted away with his customised teeth grills and Versace shades. His fans have been very sympathetic since the announcement.

The post has attracted many prayers and good wishes from his followers. The rapper has over 2 million followers on Instagram. Fans are also showing concern as this would be the second time he would be getting robbed in less than a year. They worry that for his new album which was on the list of stolen items.

The 31-year-old now regards himself as an Afrobeat Trapstar. A genre he now calls, Trapfro. His latest album, “Introduction To Trapfro” was also released last year. One of his biggest so far is 5-year-old jam, Blessings featuring Ortisefemi.

Yung6ix was nominated for the Headies Awards in 2012 in two categories for song, ‘Oh My Gosh‘. The categories were Best Rap Single and Lyricist on the Roll.
