Safaree and Erica Mena file for divorce after almost two years
American rapper, Safaree Samuels and his wife, Erica Mena are getting a divorce. According to TMZ, Mena filed for the divorce last week Friday at a supreme court in Georgia, USA. The TV personality is also seeking custody of their 1-year-old daughter.
Love and hip-hop star, Mena is also currently pregnant with the couple’s second child. TMZ reports that: “Erica is asking for primary physical custody of their 1-year-old daughter, Safire, but she’s willing to share joint legal custody with Safaree. She’s also indicated she wants child support, plus … exclusive use of the home they currently share.”
Speculations have been flying that there may be trouble in their relationship. Mena had posted some pregnancy photos recently and her ring was conspicuously missing. Page Six also reports that “the docs also state that Mena is looking for a divorce because their marriage is “irretrievably broken” and there is “no hope of reconciliation.”
The pair got married in 2019 shortly after Mena announced that she was pregnant with their first child. Samuels had reportedly spent almost half a million dollars on the ring. The couple also recently started a joint OnlyFans account in July.
Safaree and Mena are getting a divorce
Meanwhile, there is more evidence to suggest that things were not great with the couple. The rapper had posted and deleted tweets suggested he was unhappy in the marriage back in February.
He wrote: “I mean this from the bottom of my heart getting married was 1 of my BIGGEST mistakes and it will never happen again. I’m walking away before I end up in jail over some dumb shit. Nobody is worth my freedom!!!”
Mena had responded at the time in series of comeback tweets which have also been deleted. She accused him of being ‘vain’, ‘inconsiderate’ and ‘selfish’ to both her and their daughter. She also went on to agree with his views regarding marriage.
