Nollywood actress, Shan George has announced her appointment as the chairman of Callywood – the movie body of Crossriver State. She appreciated Governor Ben Ayade for the new role.

The Nollywood star took to her Instagram page on Friday to break the news to her numerous fans.

“I’m still in shock. I worked all night and went to bed at past 6am, I was so tired, I crashed without having a bath or even wipe my face,” she wrote.

“I’m just waking up now, to this good news, of me being appointed as Chairman Callywood Board (Callywood is the movie body in my state) by His Excellency, Sir Ben Ayade, d Amiable Governor of Cross river state.”

“Thank u very much Sir. Thank you Cross Rivarians. Praises to d Almighty God.  I pray for God’s guidance, so that I can do this job and not disappoint my Governor, my people and my God, Amen.”

In the less than a minute video the actress with tears expressed her appreciation to the Governor.

Since making her official debut in Thorns of Rose, the actress has become a household name in the country’s movie industry.

However, Shan George has equally had turbulent times. In 2018, George lost her younger sister in an accident, which took place during a journey from Cross River to Rivers state.
