Nigerian Afrobeats superstar Davido has shared a candid and heartfelt story about how he first met his wife, Chioma Rowland, revealing that their love story began with an unexpected rejection.
Davido recounted the moment during a recent conversation, taking fans back to his time at Babcock University. According to Davido, he vividly remembers the first day he saw Chioma and how instantly he was drawn to her.

“I met my wife in Babcock. I remember the day I saw her. I was in a Prado, I looked behind and saw her walking, and it was Chioma,” he said.
Davido further revealed that he was so interested in her that he immediately told his associate, Lati, to approach her on his behalf. However, the first attempt did not go as planned.
“I told Lati I liked that girl and asked him to call her, but she snubbed me,” he added.
Despite the initial rejection, Davido and Chioma’s relationship later blossomed into one of the most talked-about love stories in the Nigerian entertainment industry.
However, over the years, the couple have remained in the spotlight, with their journey marked by public admiration, challenges, and eventual commitment.
