A fresh online clash has erupted between content creator Nasboi and a presidential aide over a controversial video on insecurity.

Special Assistant to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Social Media, Dada Olusegun, on Tuesday took a swipe at Nasboi, urging him to “stop spreading fear” after the skit maker shared footage of armed men on motorcycles raiding a rural community.

According to the presidential aide, the video was originally sourced from an account that identified the armed men as terrorists operating in Benin Republic.

Olusegun wrote: “You cannot continue to intentionally use your page to spread fear @iamnasboi for whatever reason you might think you have. The video you posted was clearly quoted from a page that says these are Beninese terrorists. This means the footage is from Benin Republic and has nothing to do with Nigeria.”

Nasboi has been vocal in recent days about worsening insecurity, school kidnappings, and the need for stronger government action against bandits and terrorists.

His latest video was added to public discourse amid fresh abductions that have sparked national outrage and teacher protests.

While the presidential aide acknowledged Nigeria’s security challenges, he warned against the use of misleading content that could heighten public panic. He, however, did not provide additional evidence to support his claim or disclose when and where the footage was originally recorded.
