The Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN) has directed its state chapters to include a prayer session in their next state meetings following the death of actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo.

The directive was issued by TAMPAN Global President, Bolaji Amusan, better known as Mr Latin, as the association continues to mourn the loss of a prominent member.

The development comes days after Ogogo died on Sunday, August 23, 2026, at the age of 66. His death was announced by fellow actor Jide Kosoko, while his burial was held the next day in his hometown of Ilaro, Ogun State, according to Islamic rites.

TAMPAN has expressed appreciation to Nigerians and others who supported Ogogo, his family and colleagues during his illness and after his death.
