Teni Talks Her Personal Style &Career Choices On “The Juice”

Singer/Songwriter Teni recently featured on the latest episode of Ndani TV’s “The Juice” with Bolanle Olukanni, where she revealed some personal details about herself. The multi-talented artiste talked about her rise to stardom and how she decided her path when no one was willing to help.

On how she was forced to finished tertiary education, Teni shared; “I had a pact with my mum because she made me promise that if I didn’t want her chasing me up and down then I would have to finish school. So I finished and dusted up my diploma and gave it to her.”

On growing up the ninth child in a polygamous family, she said; “Growing up we aren’t allowed to go out, and coming from a large family we were expected to play with each other, hide and seek and all. My mum never pampered me, I was just another child that needed to be taken care of.”

Commenting on her music-making process, the artiste said; “Everyday of my life I sing and I practice. It may not make you perfect but it’ll make you better. The more you do it, the better you become. Nobody was willing to help no matter how good I got so I used social media, it gave me my big break. I don’t think about anything too long when I’m trying to make music. I just try to have fun because when I overthink it nothing tangible comes out but when I free myself I create better.”

Talking about her daring fashion sense, Teni added; “My style inspiration is freedom. I like to be free. I know I’m beautiful so I don’t see the need to put on make-up. A lot of beautiful women put on makeup but I sweat when I do so I don’t want to have to deal with that. The best way to be is to be me.”
