The organisers of The Headies have officially opened submissions for the 18th edition of the prestigious music awards, inviting artistes, record labels, management teams, and other stakeholders to submit eligible works for consideration.
According to the announcement, the organisers will consider only music materials released between August 1, 2024, and April 30, 2026, for nominations. The eligibility timeline, tagged “Year in Review,” outlines the period from which the awards will assess entries across the various categories.

Interested participants can submit their entries through the official Headies website. The organisers also encouraged eligible musicians and creatives to ensure their works meet the stipulated requirements before submission.

The Headies, widely regarded as one of Africa’s biggest music award platforms, has remained a key institution that recognises excellence across Afrobeats and the African music industry.
Over the years, the awards have celebrated outstanding achievements by singers, producers, songwriters, music executives, and other industry professionals.
Although the organisers have yet to announce the ceremony’s date, venue, and nominee list, the opening of submissions marks the official beginning of the awards season.
With entries now open, anticipation is already building as artistes across Africa prepare to compete for one of the continent’s most coveted music honours.
