Toyin Abraham, the popular Nollywood actress has opened up about her past marriage to fellow actor Adeniyi Johnson, revealing the real reason behind their divorce.
Speaking in a candid interview with media personality Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, Abraham shared that although her family had misgivings about her union with Johnson, she ignored their concerns and went ahead with the marriage.
“My family prayed about it and warned me, but I didn’t listen,” she confessed, hinting that spiritual insight played a role in their disapproval. The marriage, which lasted for about two years, eventually ended in separation.
Reflecting on her present life, Abraham spoke fondly of her current marriage to fellow actor Kolawole Ajeyemi, describing it as a relationship grounded in love, faith, and mutual respect.

She recalled how their bond began to grow during her visits to Abeokuta, where Ajeyemi often worked. “In real life, he’s very calm and a prayer warrior,” she said. “Whenever I visited Abeokuta, he was always around. We started getting close, then dating.”
Toyin said she was initially hesitant to make the relationship public but eventually embraced it fully. “At some point, I stopped caring about what people had to say. We introduced each other to our families, had a small introduction, then I got pregnant, and marriage followed.”
“I come from a Christian home, and my family prayed. God revealed he was the one. And now, we’re blessed with two beautiful kids,” she added.
Expressing gratitude, the actress beamed with pride when speaking about her husband. “Trust me, I married one of the best. I won’t say the best, because there are other marriages I admire, like my godmother’s — but my husband is truly one of the best.”
